Hohai University, established in 1915, is a key university with water resources as its main characteristic and the development of engineering subjects as its first priority.
It has a coordinated development of all the disciplines of engineering, science, economics, management, arts, and law, and is one of the earliest universities in China to take in international students. It is located on three campuses in Nanjing, Jiangning and Changzhou respectively with a total of more than 30,000 students.
Hohai University is one of the first universities in China to accept international students. Up to now, hundreds of international students from over 50 countries around the world have earned their doctorate, master's, or bachelor's degrees at the university. Close cooperative relationships have been established.
Hohai university has many colleges and departments. Up to now, the University has 46 bachelor’s degree programs, 73 master’s degree programs, and 33 doctor’s degree programs, among which, Hydraulic Engineering and Civil Engineering are among the top in China. Since its establishment, Hohai University has supplied a great number of senior administrative personnel for Chinese water-oriented projects such as the largest water conservancy project in the world —Three Gorges Project and such large-scaled hydraulic and hydropower projects as Gezhouba Project.

In 2005, Hoahi University established Hohai Scholarship for International Students to attract more excellent international students, and with rich experiences of international education, high-quality teaching staff, and plenty of research fields, is open to the applicants from all over the world. In addition, students from the University’s partner universities around the world can have a discount of 15% and 30% for tuition and accommodation respectively.

On Campus Accommodation: International Student Building has a common kitchen, a laundry room, a reading room, and a sports room. The monthly rent includes 100 kw/h of electricity per room, and 4 tons of water. The students must pay for the remainder. The single rooms are supplied with study desk, closet, wardrobe, and telephone, broadband socket, air conditioner, water heater, etc. Color TV, telephone,electric kettle are available to rent.

Withdrawal and Refunds
1. The charges for withdrawal within the first two weeks shall be 20 Percent of the tuition fee. After two weeks, tuition fee is not refundable.
2. Registration fee is not refundable.

Nanjing is one of the most celebrated ancient capitals in China, and is a national historical city with a lot of rivers, mountains and hills crossing vertically and horizontally within its territory. It has spectacular scenery with abundant products and cultural relics. The main campus is located in the city proper with convenient transportation system.
