• Objective

In order to help more international students and scholars complete their studies and do research smoothly, and to develop cooperation and exchange in the fields of education, science, culture with overseas universities and institutions, Hohai University hereby sets up Scholarship for International Students  to invite more qualified international students to further their study here.

• Categories

Hohai University Scholarship for International Students can be classified into two categories:

n           Full Scholarship

Full Scholarship covers  fees for tuition, accommodation, learning materials, registration, experiment, medical care, and living allowance as well as cultivation fees, similar to Chinese Government Scholarship. At present, monthly living allowance is paid to the students under Chinese Government Scholarship at the following rates:

Ø           Doctoral Degree Candidates: RMB  1,500 yuan per month

Ø           Master's Degree Candidates: RMB 1,300 yuan per month

Ø           Bachelor's Degree Candidates: RMB 1,100 yuan per month

n           Partial Scholarship

According to different application materials, different exemptions of the fees will be offered to the applicants, such as tuition, accommodation, learning materials, registration, experiment, medical care, as well as cultivation fees.

•  Application Procedures

n           Applicants must fill in the “Application Form of Hohai University Scholarship for International Students”.

n           Applicants must provide the following materials:

Ø           Performance of the current education and recommendation letters

Ø           For master degree students: bachelor’s diploma, certificates (photocopies), transcripts of Bachelor’s studies and recommendation letters by two professors

Ø           For doctoral degree students: master’s diploma, certificates (photocopies), transcripts of master’s studies and recommendation letters by two professors

Ø           Age requirements:

²           For bachelors: no more than 25

²           For masters: no more than 35

²           For doctors: no more than 40

• Application and Recruitment

The time for application is normally from January 1^st to May 31^st, and the time for recruitment is normally from June 10^th to June 20^th. Admission Notice will be delivered to applicants before  June 25^th and the time for registration is at the beginning of September.

• Evaluation Procedures

International Office of Hohai University takes charge of the evaluation with its specific regulations. The application materials provided by the applicants will be evaluated and different scholarship for the qualified applicants  will be decided and be further approved by the University authorities; then the enrolled applicants will be informed in written form by the International Office of Hohai University.

• The Annual Evaluation

According to the teaching and the student status management, International Office of Hohai University is responsible for Annual Evaluation. On the basis of the above, the International Office will assess whether the students are qualified to continue enjoying or to renew the scholarship, and then put forward the results, either qualified or unqualified, and the proposals on whether to provide, suspend or terminate the scholarship, all of which will be further approved by the University authorities.
