Based on the practical needs, Hehai University set up the human resource management specialty in 1994, which was one of the first commercial undergraduate majors set up by Hehai University at that time. Therefore, Hehai University became one of the earliest universities to set up the human resource management specialty in China.

The business school of Hohai University has a doctoral program and a post doctoral mobile station in the first level discipline of business administration, and has a human resource management direction at both the master's and doctoral levels. Supported by a perfect discipline system, teaching and scientific research work have achieved a good complementarity and integration, laying a solid foundation for cultivating excellent students. Through internal talent training and external talent introduction, the faculty construction of the human resources management major of Hehai University has created a team of teachers with reasonable structure, abundant energy and great potential. There are 37 full-time teachers (including Changzhou Campus) in human resources management, including 19 with senior professional titles (51%) and 30 with doctoral degrees (81%). The scale of teachers is appropriate and the structure is reasonable. The major also pays attention to the construction of professional characteristics, relies on the Human Resources Research Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources, closely cooperates with various government departments, research institutions and large state-owned enterprises in the water conservancy system, strengthens the training and transmission of water conservancy talents, and graduates are widely distributed in China's water conservancy system.

In addition, relying on the advantages of the economically developed region of the Yangtze River Delta, the major has established long-term close cooperation with various enterprises. Huawei, ZTE, Tencent, Alibaba, Suning and other enterprises are important employment organizations for graduates of the major.
