Advanced Training Program on Seawater Desalination Technology and Management for Iran Launched at Hohai University

On the morning of November 11, the Advanced Training Program on Desalination Technology and Management for Iran opened at the Xikang Road Campus of our university. Mohammad Ali Ghanbari and Mohammad Hosnavi, Deputy Directors of the Water Division at Iran's Center for Progress and Development (CPDI), and Shen Yang, Vice President of our university, attended the opening ceremony.

Mohammad Ali Ghahnbari remarked that CPDI has long advanced technological advancement through international collaboration, serving as a key hub for Iran's global science and technology partnerships. CPDI maintains strong partnerships with the United Nations, BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and numerous other international organizations. Iran is actively reviving its water sector innovation working group and hopes to use this advanced training program as a springboard for deeper cooperation.

Shen Yang noted that this advanced training program not only delivers on previous collaboration commitments but also reflects Hohai University's drive for educational internationalization and its efforts to nurture technically skilled professionals with an understanding and appreciation of China. He encouraged trainees to make the most of this opportunity, to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and apply their knowledge to advance Iran's desalination industry, strengthening technical cooperation and friendship between China and Iran.

Hadi KhayyaMian, a representative of the trainees and member of Iran's Private Investors Desalination Association, shared an overview of the development of Iran's desalination sector during his speech.

This advanced training program centers on cutting-edge topics such as AI-driven monitoring, energy optimization, and predictive equipment maintenance. It aims to foster a dynamic theory-practice-cooperation partnership between China and Iran. By combining special study sessions with onsite company visits, the program has encouraged new achievements in knowledge sharing and collaborative projects between both sides.

Delegates from Iranian companies and heads of relevant university departments attended the event.
