Hohai University signed a MoU with University of Lille for the Establishment of Sino-French Water Institute

On July 6th, Hohai University signed a MoU with University of Lille, France, to jointly establish Sino-French Water Institute. Prof. Tang Hongwu, Secretary of HHU Committee of CPC, attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech. The representative of Hohai University, Vice President Prof.  Weiya Xu and the representative of University of Lille, Director of International Relations at Polytech Lille Prof. Belkacem Ould Bouamama signed the agreement and MoU on behalf of both parties. 

Prof. Hongwu Tang pointed out in his speech that strengthening Sino-foreign cooperative education is an important measure to implement the requirement of Ministry of Education and to extend the introduction of high-quality educational resources and higher education from foreign first-class universities. He reviewed the history of cooperation between the two sides and hoped that the two sides will further deepen the cooperation and strive to make Sino-French Water Institute successful. 

Sino-French Water Institute is a Sino-French cooperative education institution jointly built by Hohai University and University of Lille. Characterized by internationalism, it will take advantages of the high-quality educational resources of both sides, focus on the frontiers of international science and technology, and serve for national strategic needs and local socio-economic development requirements. It is planned to be a college with the teaching, scientific research and international cooperation and communication function, featuring water science, water engineering, water economy, water management and water culture. 

The alumni of Hohai University, Associate Professor Yun Jia from Polytech Lille and relevant personnel from Hohai University’s President Office, Department of Development Planning, Department of Educational Administration, Graduate School, International Office, International School, and College of Civil and Transportation Engineering attended the signing ceremony.
