Professor Aleksandar Rakic, the Vice-Minister of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology Faculty of University of Queensland, Australia, and Hu Wei, the Minister of Project Department of JIANGSU INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION EXCELLENCE, visited our university in the 21, March. Vice-President Xu Weiya received the guests.
Vice President Xu Weiya welcomed Professor Rakic and Minister Hu Wei, and introduced the focus and progress of international cooperation and exchanges of HHU in recent years to them. Vice President Xu Weiya said that the University of Queensland is one of the partners with the deepest foundation for cooperation of HHU. He hoped that more in-depth cooperation would be carried out in the areas of joint training of students and joint construction of Sino-foreign cooperative school-running institutions. Professor Rakic indicates that the Short-term Student Exchange Project between HHU and UQ was held very successful, and he hoped that there will be more bilateral or multilateral student camps and deep-seated scientific research cooperation could be carried out. Minister Hu Wei gave a detailed introduction to the project of Foreign High Level University Alliance, and expressed great expectation for the participation of HHU and UQ in the project. The three parties have reached preliminary cooperation on 2+2 undergraduate double degree programs, summer training camps and other projects.
Relevant persons in charge of the International Cooperation Department, the International Institute of Education, the Hydropower Institute and the Environmental Institute participated the talks.
In addition, Professor Rakic and his delegation also visited the State Key Laboratory and the Sediment Laboratory.
