Non-governmental Joint Delegation of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation Visits Hohai University

On October 23, a non-governmental joint delegation of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation visited the Changzhou New Campus of Hohai University. The delegation was composed of Yan Naing Tun (Chairman of Myanmar Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee), Keith Bennett (Vice Chairman of the 48 Group Club in the United Kingdom), Sopheap Soy (Co-Chairman of Cambodia-China Journalist Association) and other six personnel. The delegation was accompanied by Ke Zhizhong, Director of the Information Compilation and Research Office of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC, and relevant responsible personnel from the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou Municipal People's Government, and Foreign Affairs Office of Jintan District People's Government. Zhou Yuming, Assistant to the President of Hohai University, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Changzhou New Campus, received the guests.The delegation highly praised the construction of Changzhou New Campus, and said that Hohai University, as the pioneer and leader in China's water conservancy higher education, has shared high-quality educational resources with many universities and scientific research institutes in countries along the Belt and Road, cultivated a large number of outstanding talents, and provided strong support in talents, science and technology for infrastructure construction and modernization in countries along the Belt and Road. The delegation hoped that in the future, both parties could jointly develop the blue ocean economy, build a high-quality platform for Belt and Road cooperation, and deepen cooperation in the education field such as international student cultivation and curriculum setting, thus promoting mutual learning among civilizations and cultural integration and innovation, and making great contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

During the symposium, seven international students from countries along the Belt and Road shared their study and life at Hohai University and talked freely about their further study plans.

At the just-concluded Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the eight major steps China will take to support joint pursuit of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping have greatly inspired all attendees. Hohai University has always taken the Belt and Road Education Action Plan as an effective way to expand foreign cooperation and exchange and promote education internationalization, and has actively participated in a number of large-scale water conservancy projects and infrastructure construction along the Belt and Road. In the future, Hohai University will continue to make concerted efforts and forge ahead with other countries in the field of education and various quarters to chart a course for the new development journey of the Belt and Road and usher in a new chapter of the next golden decade.
