Delegation from the Australian National University Visits Hohai University

Recently, four people including Professor Nick Barnes, Director of the School of Engineering at the Australian National University (ANU), visited Hohai University. Vice President of Hohai University Zheng Jinhai met with the guests at Changzhou New Campus, and the two sides exchanged views on further cooperation.

During the talks, Zheng Jinhai extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced Hohai University's history, advantageous disciplines and other information. Zheng said that Hohai University has always attached importance to exchanges with universities in Australia, and teachers of both Hohai University and the ANU have a good foundation for cooperation in academic exchanges and scientific research. He hoped that the two sides would deepen their cooperation in high-level talent training, student exchanges and scientific research in the future to achieve win-win development.

Professor Nick Barnes gave a detailed introduction on the ANU and the recent achievements made by its School of Engineering in talent training, scientific research and other fields. He affirmed the history of cooperation between the two universities and looked forward to exploring more diversified joint training programs on the existing basis and taking student exchanges as an opportunity to lift the cooperation between the two universities to a new stage.

Through exchanges, the two sides reached consensus on cooperation in carrying out 2.5+2.5 and 3+2 joint training programs.

Heads of relevant departments and schools as well as representatives of teachers attended the meeting.

The ANU, founded in 1946, ranks 34th in the QS World University Rankings 2024. In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023, the ANU's 11 disciplines ranked in the world's top 20, of which engineering and technology, computer science, earth and ocean science, environmental science and other disciplines were at the top level in Australia.
