IAHR-HOHAI Collaborative Committee on Higher Education and E-Learning Officially Launched

The IAHR-HOHAI Collaborative Committee on Higher Education and E-Learning sees its official opening today on May 15th at Hohai University. Jointly established by International Association for Hydro Environment Engineering and Research(IAHR) and Hohai University, the Collaborative Committee is one of the technical committees of IAHR.


Within the context of the MOU for collaboration betweenInternational Association for Hydro Environment Engineering and Research(IAHR) and Hohai University signed in 2015, and a subsequent agreement to establish a joint collaborative committee agreed in the 2018 IAHR council meeting, the purpose of the Collaborative Committee is to promote the dissemination of knowledge and skills in relevant areas, enhance the educational cooperation among IAHR members and develop eLearning programs which can benefit the wider community.

In order to achieve the above objectives, the major activities of the committee include promoting international collaboration among universities and research institutions in the domain of hydro-environment in terms of discipline and cross-discipline development, teaching materials, textbooks, and teaching methodology, and developing E-Learning programs targeting both students and professionals and promote international collaboration in this regard etc.

The leadership team of IAHR including President Prof. Peter Goodwin, Vice Presidents Prof. James Edward Ball, Prof. Arturo Marcano, Prof. Silke Wieprecht,Excecutive Director Prof.Tom Soo, Secretary General Ramon Gutierrez Serret and Jing PENG attended the Launching Ceremony.
