On May 31, Dr. Thida Win, President of Myanmar Mandalay University, headed a delegation of presidents and vice presidents of 12 Myanmar universities visiting Hohai University. The visiting guests were warmly welcomed and received by Hohai President Xu Hui and Vice President Xu Weiya.

Xu Hui, President of Hohai University, welcomed the delegation from Myanmar's universities and introduced the general situation of Hohai University in talent development, scientific research, social services, cultural heritage and international cooperation. President Xu Hui pointed out that Hohai University attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with universities in Myanmar and other countries along the Belt and Road. With the deepening bilateral relations, the cooperation between Hohai and Myanmar's universities will be endowed with greater potential. It’s expected that the two sides will deepen their collaborations in humanities and educational exchanges. President Dr. Thida Win introduced the 12 visiting Myanmar universities and highly echoed President Xu Hui's view. Dr. Thida Win expressed his belief in a brighter prospect for broad cooperation between China and Myanmar universities under the Belt and Road, calling for Hohai University to enroll more Myanmar students in the degree-based study programs. Vice President Xu Weiya made suggestions about the cooperation areas and methods between the two sides and obligated Hohai’s relevant departments and schools to implement specific cooperation projects.


This visit of the Myanmar university delegation was organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Mandalay, Myanmar. It aims to deepen the Sino-Myanmar friendly cooperation, advance the construction of the Belt and Road and promote the educational cooperation between Jiangsu and Myanmar.
