On October 26, Tanzania's ambassador to China, H.E. Mbelwa Kairuki, and his party visited Hohai University (hereinafter referring as HHU), who was warmly welcomed by vice-president Xu Weiya.
Vice-president Xu Weiya first warmly welcomed the ambassador and introduced to him about the history and development vision of HHU. Vice-president Xu said that HHU has accepted and cultivated foreign students since 1954, since when its alumni have spread all over the world. Especially in recent years, HHU has offered to integrate into the national initiative and expand international cooperation on education. It is hoped that this visit can be turned into an opportunity to promote in-depth cooperation between the university and Tanzania in the training of talents in the field of water conservancy .
Ambassador Kairuki appreciated HHU for its strong support for Tanzania in education and scientific and technological cooperation for foreign students over the years. He hoped that more Tanzanian students would have the opportunity to learn advanced knowledge in water conservancy and environmental engineering at HHU and build a bridge of friendship between China and Tanzania after their studies.
Lusekelo Gwassa, Educational Attache at Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in China and Ambassador assistant Joseph Laizer also visited along.
Relevant officials from International Cooperation Department also attended the meeting.
