Hohai University launches Changzhou new campus in the morning, June 28, 2020. The launching ceremony was held on the lakeside of beautiful Changdang Lake in Jintan District. Hundreds of representatives and guests gathered to attend the grand ceremony and witness another milestone in the development history of Hohai University.

With a total land area of 2,248 mu, Changzhou new campus is located in Jintan Changdang Lake Tourist Resort, Jiangsu Province, south of Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway and north of Changdang Lake. The campus has a long-term planning building area of 1.36 million square meters, including 1.18 million square meters above the ground and 0.18 million square meters under the ground, with a volume rate of 0.84. The construction area is planned to be about 700 thousand square meters, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan. It will be completed and put into use in the autumn term of 2023.
The new campus will, based on the feature of water conservancy, adhere to Hohai University's 100-year-old school-running tradition, and combine its campus culture and discipline characteristics in planning and design according to the concept of water is the soul, garden is the body, and people-oriented, and integrate with the overall planning of Changdang Lake Tourist Resort to create a campus space with water management, parks in groups, inheritance and sustainability, forming a modern new campus that combines the historical and cultural tradition of Hohai University and obvious regions and disciplines of Changzhou new campus.

The construction of Changzhou new campus is a partnership between Hohai University and Changzhou City on a larger scale and a higher level on the basis of more than 30 years' cooperation in running schools. It is a new starting point for deepening the integration of the University and the city. Changzhou new campus will implement integrated management with Nanjing Xikang Road Campus and Jiangning Campus, and integrate undergraduate, master and doctoral cultivation.
