Mr. Benoît Guidée, Consul General of the Republic of France, Visits HHU with His Delegation

On April 26, Benoît Guidée, Consul General of France in Shanghai, and Ms. Séverine Boué, Education Consul, visited Hohai University. President Xu Hui received the guests, accompanied by Vice President Xu Weiya.

On behalf of HHU, Xu Hui first welcomed Mr. Benoît Guidée and his delegation, and then briefed them on HHU's overview and its cooperation with the University of Lille. He expressed that HHU has always attached great importance to the education cooperation with French institutes. Taking the building of Hohai-Lille College as an opportunity, HHU will further enhance the cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and France in the field of higher education to push forward China-France friendly relations continuously.

Mr. Benoît Guidée said that Hohai University had impressed him deeply in its teaching and scientific research strength in water resources, environment and other disciplines. Also, the cooperation between HHU and French institutes has a long history with a solid foundation and rich achievements. Hohai-Lille College, as a landmark achievement of cooperation between HHU and the University of Lille over the years, is a successful accomplishment of Sino-French educational cooperation. Moreover, on behalf of the French Consulate General in Shanghai, he stressed that he would fully support the cooperation between HHU and French institutes in the future, thus pushing the Sino-French educational cooperation to a new era.

Before the meeting, Vice President Xu Weiya offered the guests a tour of the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering.

Staff from the International Cooperation Office, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate College, Hohai-Lille College and teachers from the University of Lille participated in the discussion meeting.
