Former Chinese Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire Gives a Lecture at HHU

On June 28, Tang Weibin, former Chinese Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, gave a special lecture entitled “Characteristics of the World Economy in the Post-COVID-19 Era” to students and faculties of Hohai University. He was invited by the Western Returned Scholars Association of Hohai University (WRSA) and the Association of Science and Technology of Hohai University. Chen Mili, Vice General Manager of China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., together with more than 200 teachers and students of Hohai University, listened to the lecture. Professor Zheng Jinhai, Vice President of Hohai University and President of the WRSA, was the presider of the lecture.

In the beginning, Tang Weibin introduced the global prevention and control situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, and analyzed its effect on the world in a simple and explicit way. He then summarized the characteristics of the world economy in the Post-COVID-19 Era and proposed the trend that the COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped the world. He noted that the pandemic is a good opportunity for introspection and holds the potential to move forward. As a result, we should be more inclusive, fair and respectful of the nature. In the interactive exchange session, Tang Weibin patiently gave detailed answers to the questions of teachers and students. After the lecture, Zheng Jinhai presented a certificate of appreciation to Tang Weibin on behalf of the WRSA.
