Recently, China Global Television Network (CGTN) had an interview with Chen Hongsheng, Dean of the International School, and Nguyen Ngoc Tu, a Vietnamese student who is among the first batch of students to be financially supported by Langcang-Mekong Water Resource High-level Professionals Program and reported on the project.
Lancang-Mekong Cooperation is one of key directions for education to open to the outside world. Hohai University has been committed to developing a platform featuring talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation and cultural exchanges for the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation on Water Resources by leveraging high-quality educational and disciplinary resources. Moreover, Hohai University has also carried out the Langcang-Mekong Water Resource High-level Professionals Program and built the Lancang-Mekong River School to create a top-ranking base for cultivating talent in Lancang-Mekong water resources. When it comes to academic education, Hohai university has recruited international students from Lancang-Mekong countries, developed internship and practice bases for these international students, and created quality courses in English for Lancang-Mekong countries. In terms of non-academic education, HHU has organized offline and online training for government officials, enterprise management personnel and technicians in the fields of water resources, environment, energy and agriculture in Lancang-Mekong countries; the practice model featuring cloud visit and cloud inspection has also been innovated. As for educational and cultural exchanges, HHU has developed Lancang-Mekong tutorials, held international academic seminars, and conducted cooperation with universities in Lancang-Mekong countries.
