On October 30, Jiangsu International Exchange Week on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research & Application was held in Nanjing. It was hosted by Jiangsu Education Department, and co-orgnized by Southeast University, Hohai University and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province Zhao Yan attended and addressed the opening ceremony. The theme of this exchange week is International Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application for a Shared Future. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Zeng Qin, Director of the Department of International Cooperation at China Meteorological Administration, Wu Jingsong, Second-level Inspector at the Department of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Education, Xu Huaqin, Deputy Secretary-General of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and Jiang Yong, Director-General of Jiangsu Education Department. At the opening ceremony, Lu Guobin, Vice President of Hohai University, and Professor Reza Ahmadian, Director of International at the School of Engineering, Cardiff University, the UK, signed an agreement on Hohai University-Cardiff University International Cooperation Program for Innovative Talents Training on behalf of the two sides.
The practical measure to deepen the development of an equal and open cooperation platform between Chinese and foreign universities and enterprises can promote the transformation into the paradigm of deep integration of industry, education, research and application, which Hohai University has focused on national strategies and needs with targeted efforts to carry out the International Cooperation Program for Innovative Talents Training together with Cardiff University, so as to promote the construction of first-class disciplines. The program aims to cultivate innovative and versatile international high-level talents in short supply. Excellent doctoral students and doctoral supervisors will be sent for long-term exchanges and visits to partner universities every year. The program is of great significance to promote the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents in Hohai University, as well as the high-quality development of the university's education opening-up system.
