Days ago, Moez Chafra, President of the University of Tunis El Manar, and his delegation visited Hohai University and were received by Vice President Chen Da.
Chen Da introduced Hohai University's history and its international cooperation and exchanges. He pointed out that Hohai University has always valued exchanges and cooperation with African universities, and hoped that both parties would take the construction of this joint laboratory as an opportunity to jointly promote deep cooperation between China and Tunisia in fields such as the efficient use of water resources, defense against water disasters, and ecological and environmental protection, setting an excellent example for China-Africa cooperation in higher education.
Moez Chafra affirmed the development achievements of Hohai University in recent years and comprehensively introduced the orientation and discipline characteristics of the University of Tunis El Manar, as well as the natural and geographical advantages of North Africa. He hoped that the two universities would deepen cooperation in scientific research, talent training, and cultural exchanges, among other fields. The College of Environment of Hohai University and the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Natural Sciences of the University of Tunis El Manar also signed the Cooperation Agreement on China-Tunisia Joint Laboratory for Water Disasters and Aquatic Ecological Environment Security Regulation.
The University of Tunis El Manar is a leading comprehensive university in Tunisia, with over 20,000 full-time students, 2% of whom are international students. The university focuses on humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, and medicine. It has a high level of teaching and scientific research, and many of its alumni are well-known scholars in Africa.
Heads of relevant colleges and departments also attended the meeting.
