Recently, Clarivate released the latest ESI data, and our Environment/Ecology ranked among the top 1‰ in the world for the first time.
According to ESI data, our “Environment/Ecology” mainly relies on the national “Double First-Class” discipline of Environmental Science and Engineering and is supported by paper data from related disciplines of multiple units such as the College of Environment and National Key Laboratory of Water Disaster Prevention. The discipline of Environmental Science and Engineering focuses on basin environmental evolution and ecological security, comprehensive treatment and restoration of rivers and lakes, prevention and control of agricultural and rural pollution, etc. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 200 major scientific research tasks at national, provincial, and ministerial levels, won nearly 10 national science and technology awards, and some of its research results are at the international advanced and domestic leading level.
In recent years, centering on major national strategic needs and scientific frontiers, we have continuously deepened the construction of discipline connotation, optimized the discipline layout, and strengthened the improvement of key core indicators of discipline development. We have achieved remarkable results in improving the quality of independent talent training, gathering high-level talents, building major scientific research platforms, undertaking major national scientific and technological tasks, and enhancing self-reliance and self-improvement ability in science and technology, with the overall level of each discipline steadily improved.
