On November 20, Philippe Gourbesville, President of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), visited Hohai University (HHU). HHU's President Zheng Jinhai attended the meeting.

President Zheng welcomed President Gourbesville and introduced HHU's development history and academic strengths. He noted that HHU has maintained a close collaborative relationship with IAHR, yielding fruitful outcomes. President Gourbesville outlined IAHR's strategic planning and recent priority initiatives. He encouraged HHU to further leverage its distinctive characteristics and advantages, explore potential for bilateral cooperation, deepen the strategic partnership, and make significant contributions to the international hydro-environment engineering field.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges regarding high-level talent, high-level international conferences, cutting-edge international curricula, international student cultivation, integration of industry-academia-research-application, and international organization internships for students. They reached an intention to cooperate on joint water training and education under the IAHR Label and will actively promote resource sharing to drive mutual development.
