On January 9, a delegation led by the Ambassador of Poland to China Jakub Kumoch and the Consul-General of Poland in Shanghai Adam Bralczyk visited Hohai University (HHU), where they were received by HHU's President Zheng Jinhai.
President Zheng welcomed Ambassador Kumoch and his delegation and introduced HHU's development and history of cooperation with Poland. He noted that China and Poland share a long-standing friendship, with HHU maintaining close exchanges with the Polish Academy of Sciences and Czestochowa University of Technology (CUT) in talent cultivation and scientific research. President Zheng expressed hope for creating new development opportunities with more Polish universities in fields such as climate change, infrastructure security, artificial intelligence, and big data.
Ambassador Kumoch highlighted the broad prospects for China-Poland cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, noting that the number of international students studying in Poland has nearly doubled over the past decade. He stated that Poland would continue to offer more study opportunities for Chinese students. He also expressed gratitude to HHU for training outstanding Polish graduates and hoped that HHU alumni would serve as bridges to promote deeper cooperation between the two countries in education, science, technology, and culture.
Representatives from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and relevant university departments participated in the meeting.
After the meeting, the delegation toured HHU's History Museum.
