On March 24, Chinese Minister of Water Resources Li Guoying visited Thuyloi University in Vietnam. During the exchange meeting, Dao Van Hun, who was enrolled in Hohai University's Hydraulic and Hydroelectric Engineering international PhD program in 2006 and is now President of the Hohai University Vietnam Alumni Association and Associate Professor at Thuyloi University, delivered remarks as a representative.

Dao Van Hun briefed Minister Li Guoying on the work of the Hohai University Vietnam Alumni Association and the growth of Vietnamese alumni. Reflecting on his study journey in China and career development, he expressed gratitude for the growth opportunities China has provided to Vietnamese students. He also expressed his desire to continue contributing to scientific research and talent cultivation cooperation between universities in both countries and strengthening bilateral friendship.

Since the 1950s, Hohai University has trained nearly 200 international students from Vietnam to equip them with strong professional competencies, cross-cultural communication skills, and broad international perspectives. Many of these graduates have returned to Vietnam to work in the water conservancy sector, becoming bridges that enhance friendship and promote cooperation and development between the two countries. Since its establishment in 2024, the Hohai University Vietnam Alumni Association has actively served as a bond by regularly organizing alumni activities and facilitating education, research, and economic and trade cooperation. These efforts have fostered communication and collaboration among Hohai alumni, advanced further cooperation between Vietnamese universities and Hohai University, and contributed to deeper educational exchanges between the two countries.
