Recently, Lu Guobin, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Hohai University, led a delegation to Australia and New Zealand for educational cooperation and exchange programs.
During the visit to the University of Melbourne, both parties discussed the progress and future plans of the China Scholarship Council's International Cooperative Program for Innovative Talents. They also reached new agreements on joint educational programs, faculty-student exchanges, and research collaboration. Lu Guobin noted that the two universities have established a solid foundation for cooperation in talent cultivation and academic exchanges. He expressed hope for further deepening collaboration in key disciplines to enhance mutual benefits.
During the visit to the Australian National University, the two sides held productive discussions on joint talent development, academic exchanges, and research collaboration. They made substantial progress on a 2+2 undergraduate dual-degree program and found common ground on initiatives like expert visits, short-term student exchanges, and summer school partnerships.
During the visit to the University of Auckland, both parties reviewed their longstanding cooperative relationship and discussed plans for joint doctoral/master's programs and international talent cultivation initiatives. They also agreed to expand cooperation in the 3+2 joint bachelor’s-master’s program. The delegation also toured relevant laboratories in the Faculty of Engineering and Design at the University of Auckland, establishing preliminary intentions for research collaboration.
The visit also featured a global talent recruitment seminar, alumni roundtables with graduates in Australia and New Zealand, a flag relay ceremony celebrating Hohai University's 110th anniversary, and the election of a new board for the New Zealand alumni chapter.
Heads of relevant departments and colleges/schools accompanied the delegation on the visit.
