On August 10, the inauguration ceremony of the HHU Central Asia Alumni Association was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Zheng Jinhai, President of Hohai University (HHU) attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Mr. Zheng extended his cordial greetings to the alumni in Central Asia and offered heartfelt congratulations on the establishment of the Central Asia Alumni Association. He introduced the University's recent achievements in open education, discipline development, and scientific research collaboration, as well as its exchanges and cooperation with Central Asian partners. He expressed his hope that the Central Asia Alumni Association would strengthen alumni connections, integrate and expand alumni resources, and foster deep cooperation between universities, research institutes, and enterprises in Central Asia and their alma mater and fellow alumni in areas such as key technology research and research outcome transformation, thereby advancing both the development of alumni careers and the high-quality growth of their alma mater.
The first Council of the HHU Central Asia Alumni Association was elected at the meeting.
Following the inauguration ceremony, the association held a school flag relay to celebrate the University's 110th anniversary.
The event was attended by heads of relevant functional departments, colleges, and schools of the University, the head of the Xinjiang Alumni Association, and representatives of alumni in Central Asia.
