Hohai University Participates in China-Vietnam Forum on Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation

On April 14, the China-Vietnam Forum on Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation was held at Tsinghua University. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President of Viet Nam, delivered a policy speech. Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, delivered a speech.


Wu Feng, Vice President of Hohai University (HHU), attended the opening ceremony as a representative of Chinese universities and participated in the Sub-forum on Collaborative Development of Higher Education for Building Regional Talent Community between China and Vietnam. Wu Feng delivered a keynote speech titled "Seventy Years of Friendship and a New Era of Cooperation: the Hohai-Vietnam Partnership", introducing the long-standing cooperative foundation and practical achievements between HHU and Vietnamese universities. During the roundtable dialogue, he proposed innovative ideas for deepening joint talent cultivation and scientific and technological cooperation.



Wu Feng noted that leveraging its expertise in water conservancy and world-class disciplinary strengths, HHU has established long-term cooperative partnerships with institutions such as Thuyloi University and University of Transport and Communications (UTC). It has implemented flagship projects, including the Leadership Training Program for Lancang-Mekong Young Professionals in Water Sciences, the Smart Water Management System for Rice in the Mekong River Basin, and the World Water Valley Forum. These initiatives have driven cooperation from the classroom to the field and from the laboratory to the engineering frontline, contributing with concrete actions to building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future and promoting sustainable development in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin.



Furhermore, HHU's "Cooperation Agreement between HHU and UTC on Jointly Establishing a New Energy Joint Training and Research Center" and the "Memorandum of Understanding between Thuyloi University and HHU" were selected for display at the China-Vietnam Education Cooperation Achievements Exhibition.


Since enrolling its first cohort of Vietnamese students in 1954, HHU has been committed to China-Vietnam educational exchanges, having cultivated over 200 outstanding Vietnamese students and establishing a solid bridge for educational cooperation between China and Vietnam. In the future, HHU will continue to uphold the principles of friendly cooperation and collaborative education, further a new chapter in China-Vietnam higher education collaboration, and inject new momentum into regional development and the enduring friendship between the two nations.
